20 Fenchurch Street was developed by Land Securities and the Canary Wharf Group, designed by international architect, Rafael Vinoly. The scheme comprises a 36-storey tower which provides 100,000 sq m of premier office space in central London. The building also has a unique sky garden at the top of the tower which will provide a stunning 360-degree panorama of the city.
From the outset, we made it our mission to reduce the carbon footprint and energy consumption below that of the current Part L Conservation of Fuel and Power Building Regulations and Greater London Authority requirements.
These reductions were achieved through passive building design measures, energy-efficient enhancements of building services and equipment and the integration of any feasible low and zero carbon technologies. Our energy strategy complies with the London Plan, including Policy 5.2 - Minimising Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Policy 5.7 - Renewable Energy and is correlated with the London Plan Energy Hierarchy stages of Be Lean, Be Clean and Be Green.
