20 Gresham Street Reception view 750

Hilson Moran was responsible for the shell and core designs including provisions such as resilient 11kV power supply, N+1 cooling system and areas for tenant’s secondary cooling plant, generators and a significant UPS installation. We were also appointed by the tenant, Standard Bank, for the design of the fit out which included a trading floor, data centre, other IT rooms, client meeting suites, staff restaurant and office accommodation.

Enhancements for the tenant included the provision of N+1 standby generation for 100% of the building, 2N UPS system, additional HV/LV substations and 2N critical cooling system.

The data centre is supported by close control CRAC units with split coils fed from independent cooling systems. A&B power distribution units with static switches and isolation transformers feed the cabinets with duplicate power supplies. The data centre and critical electrical rooms are protected by gas suppression and leak detection systems.
