Located in the heart of the City, The Pinnacle is one of a number of high-profile skyscraper developments Hilson Moran’s engineering experts have been involved with. Once complete, The Pinnacle will be the tallest building in the City of London, and the second tallest in the UK and the EU.
Hilson Moran’s fire engineers are responsible for the design of sprinkler and wet riser systems for this 66-storey tower. The solution we have developed minimises system pressures, core riser sizes and the required plan space, in turn freeing up more space as lettable area and maximising efficiency.
The sprinkler system comprises duplicate multi-stage three outlet sprinkler pumps, each arranged in cascade formation, drawing water from storage tanks located at basement 3 and level 30. The wet riser system comprises duplicate multi-stage two outlet sprinkler pumps, each arranged in cascade formation, drawing water from storage tanks located at basement 3 and level 30.
