    At Hilson Moran we have worked hard to assemble an industry leading team of consultants who have a diverse range of skills from infrastructure engineering through to environmental science and ecology. Our consultants understand the complex DNA of international sporting venues and work in close collaboration with stakeholders to find the right environmental, social, cultural and economic balance on every stadium and associated master plan. We have also joined forces with industry leading independent transport and civil engineering companies to offer our clients a complete multi-discipline design service.

    We understand the need to examine more than just the already accepted parameters for success, such as environmental stewardship, transport infrastructure, land use, ecology, water conservation and energy efficiency. We also incorporate in our design thinking a whole raft of less readily ratable considerations such as social diversity, cultural identity, economic vision and lasting prosperous legacy. This we call sustainable master planning.

    We also recognise the importance of using sustainability assessment tools such as LEED, BREEAM, Estidama, QSAS Sports and QSAS Neighbourhoods in the design of sporting venues and associated surrounding Master plan. Our consultants are fully versed in applying these tools to optimise the final design solution.

    We have also developed our own framework for measuring sustainability on these important venues, known as the Sustainable Built Environment Tool (SuBET). This unique tool has been developed in partnership with Dr Husam Al Waer, Lecturer in Sustainable Architecture and Director of the Sustainability Assessment Research Group at the University of Dundee; and Professor Derek Clements-Croome, Director of the Intelligent Buildings Research Group at the University of Reading.
