Associate Electrical Engineer

We are seeking to employ an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Farnborough office.

Based in the Hub, a repurposed, art deco departure lounge, our Farnborough teams work internationally on project from across all sectors, from luxury hotels to some of the biggest and most exciting new stadia in the world.

We are seeking to employ an proactive and enthusiastic Associate Electrical Engineer to join our expanding team in Farnborough.

You will deliver your design services within a diverse and challenging range of design projects. Your project range will vary, demonstrating experience across a range of different scales, complexity, sectors, and geographies.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • As a project lead, evaluate project challenges, identify and develop solutions for new projects, mitigate risks, and develop opportunities in the future.
  • Support the day-to-day running and management of projects while supporting coordination and ensuring they are delivered to the highest technical standards.
  • Maintain your in-depth knowledge of the standards required to stay updated on all changes and competence to minimise the risk of design-related legal or regulatory issues.
  • Conduct performance assessments, provide constructive feedback, and identify skill gaps and opportunities for learning & development as a line manager.
  • As a key client interface at project level when the Project lead cannot attend. Understand the client’s requirements and align them with the project goals.
  • Ensuring all additional work undertaken is appropriately identified and additional fees are claimed where appropriate.
  • Complete project references/presentations to be utilised for marketing purposes, including developing a deep network of contacts within the industry and with clients.
  • Assist in the development of fee proposals and presentations.
  • Manages project quality control and ensures that company quality and compliance standards are upheld in accordance with Business Management Procedures.
  • Evaluate project challenges, identify and develop solutions to mitigate risks, and identify opportunities in the future.
  • Review all calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure they are appropriate and comply with the client brief.

Background & Qualifications:

  • Have experience of commercial (new build, refurbishments and fit out), residential and mixed-use developments.
  • In depth knowledge of Building Services Engineering Systems including their performance, application, and operation.
  • Knowledge and skills to minimise risk of design-related legal or regulatory issues.
  • MSc or BSc in Environmental or Engineer discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
  • Analytical skills to influence the drive for continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of sustainable building design, renewable and low carbon technology.
  • Knowledge and skills to minimise risk of design-related legal or regulatory issues.
  • Understanding of estimate project budgets and resources required.

Skills:

  • Proficient with solid communication skills, including presentation skills for internal and external meetings.
  • Utilise technical skills to implement more technically demanding projects.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in required software.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems efficiently.
  • Effectively manages time and priorities. Ensures that information presented to your key contacts within your team meets an appropriate standard and is within the allocated timeframe.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders through professional communication and responsiveness.
