The site of the Royal Mail’s former West End Delivery Office in Newman Street, the 412,000 sq ft Rathbone Square development provides a mixture of offices, residential apartments and retail space, along with all new public realm. The development is home to Facebook’s new London HQ, having leased the entire 227,000 sq ft of Class A office space in 2017.
Our energy specialists worked in close collaboration with both our own MEP engineers and the wider professional team to develop an Energy Strategy which would see the development reduce CO2 emissions by 33.1% (domestic) and 31.2% (non-residential) over Part L. From the earliest concept stages, environmental, socio-economic and heritage considerations moulded the form and massing of the building
BIM was an integral part of the design process on this landmark scheme. Coordinating the Revit model with the building services, architectural and structural engineering teams enabled us to optimise the integration of services into the building.
